“Boston, MA…We are pleased to announce that The Second Step has been selected from a competitive pool of over 25 applicants to receive a pro bono consulting engagement by Harvard Business School Association of Boston’s Community Action Partners (CAP).

Community Action Partners (CAP) is a volunteer organization of Harvard Business and Kennedy School alumni, helping Boston-area nonprofits apply management skills to their business challenges. Last year CAP volunteers provide an estimated 13,000+ hours of consulting, equivalent to approximately $3.4 million in pro bono services to worthy nonprofits. These volunteers offer a powerful blend of business expertise and passion for making a difference in the community. CAP projects result in incredible impact for nonprofit clients and are a uniquely rewarding volunteer experience for alumni.

“We are thrilled to have been selected to work with a group of CAP consultants to deeply explore the strategic issues that drive our impact. With this significant investment of time and energy, we will develop meaningful metrics, evaluate our services, and create an action plan to grow and sustain our programs that support survivors, address the root causes of domestic violence, and ultimately break the cycle of violence in families and our community.” – Susan Ross, CEO.

“We are very excited to work with The Second Step this year” states Executive Director Kathy Le. The Second Step is doing critical work for the greater Boston community. The nature of their business challenge, mission, and social impact make them a very attractive partner for our alumni volunteer teams.
