After five years at The Second Step, Matthew Swoveland, Executive Director, is relocating to the west to be closer to family. He will be transitioning out of his role at TSS late this summer. All of us at TSS are truly grateful to Matt for his steady yet visionary leadership, which has rejuvenated the agency’s mission and programs. He leaves the agency in excellent financial and operational condition, and will be actively involved in facilitating the transition to new leadership. Matt will be greatly missed by all, and our entire community wishes Matt only the best as he begins a new chapter in his life!
As a result, the Board of Directors of The Second Step has initiated a search for the organization’s next Executive Director. We are looking to continue our trajectory of growth through depth, investing in our programs, our services, and our team in ways that are responsive, survivor-driven, and informed by a deep understanding of the effects of trauma as well as the resilience that survivors and their children bring to our community.
