We’re excited to share that we’ve received a $2 million gift from the Yield Giving Open Call

I am thrilled to inform you that The Second Step has been selected as an Awardee for MacKenzie Scott’s Yield Giving Open Call. The Open Call initially planned for 250 awards of $1 million each. After a rigorous review of 6,353 applicants by peer and external expert panels, the donor team decided to give a mix of $1 million and $2 million gifts. As one of the highest-ranking organizations from this extraordinarily competitive pool, The Second Step has been awarded $2 million.

I am honored by this tremendous vote of confidence in our work by one of the most sophisticated philanthropist investors in the country. This significant grant will propel our mission forward and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

I extend my deepest heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our staff for their hard work, passion, and unwavering commitment to our mission. It is because of their dedication and tireless efforts that we have been able to achieve this milestone and continue to make a positive impact in our community. This accomplishment is a direct reflection on them, the work they do and the difference they make. I am so proud of the whole team!

To our supporters, donors, and partners, I am profoundly thankful for your ongoing belief and trust, and for your continued generosity and support. Your contributions are and will continue to be instrumental in helping us fulfill our mission and reach those who need it most.

I am so optimistic, enthusiastic, and excited about the future of The Second Step. Together, we will leverage this grant to create lasting change to help survivors break the cycle of domestic violence and build stronger, more resilient communities.

I look forward to sharing more details about the impact of this grant in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, please join me in celebrating this remarkable achievement and reflecting on the incredible impact we are making together.

Sincerely and Proudly,

Executive Director – Susan Ross, Esq.
