We are THRILLED to announce that Attorney Amy Hamill, Director of Steps to Justice, has been selected to receive the 2024 Access to Justice Award. The Access to Justice Award is presented by the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance (MOVA) to an individual who has made contributions to the rights of crime victims and survivors. This award recognizes the leadership and outreach efforts of someone that has made victim services more accessible or available to underserved populations.

Amy is exceptionally deserving of this recognition. An extraordinary attorney who imbues strong legal advice and skills with humanity and compassion, she has spent her entire career, spanning two decades, working on behalf of victims and survivors. As the Director of STJ, she leads a team that provides high quality, trauma informed legal services to those who need an advocate on their side, to help tell their story and achieve positive outcomes regarding the most important, intimate parts of their lives. In addition, Amy is a mentor and role model who has trained, supervised, and promoted the careers of attorneys, law students, and interns who are now committed to practicing in the field, increasing her impact exponentially. It is not an exaggeration to say that her work changes and saves lives.

This year’s Victim Rights Month Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Massachusetts State House from 1:00-3:00 p.m. More details about a celebration in Amy’s honor to come!
